I was recently asked to write my very first blurb (those little comments you see on the back cover of a book saying how fabulous the book is. It’s an endorsement of sorts) for someone else’s book.
That’s something that the likes of Stephen King or Dean Koontz get asked to do, not little unknown authors like yours truly. So needless to say, when Christine and Ethan Rose asked me to write a blurb for their book “Witch on the Water” I was completely over the moon. I’d arrived as an Author. Okay, maybe not, but I was extremely honoured and it is rather gratifying when other writers think your opinion matters. It’s only a matter of time before the reading public realise that I exist and that my opinion counts for something. Hey, I can dream, can’t I?
Thankfully the first book I get to endorse is worth endorsing. It’s a wonderful read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s jam packed with Magick and adventure. “Witch on the Water” is the kind of book that both adults and young adults can enjoy. It’s due for release on 12 October 2009 and will be on sale on Amazon. To find out more about it pop in and visit Christine and Ethan’s website.
Let’s hope this wasn’t the last time someone asks me to write a blurb for them. This experience was great for my ego and my ego needs to be stroked every now and again.
Hope you all have a freaky day!
