I recently watched a report on Carte Blanche (a local news program) about the Kamfers Dam Flamingos. Kamfers Dam is in the Northern Cape and is the only breeding ground for the lesser Flamingos in South Africa. It’s now being threatened by raw sewage that flows from a dysfunctional treatment plant – thanks to poor management, as well as some or other development that shouldn’t really be going there. These poor flamingos really touched my heart strings and I thought I’d share their plight with you.
If you want to help them please go to the Save the Flamingo site.
I think it is such a shame what we humans do to our environment.
This was a lovely bllog post
