Reading Slumps and Dystopian Fiction

Hello, my Freaky Darlings!

How’s your week been? Mine’s been a bit on the busy side. I attended the Fiction Marketing Academy during the week, and it was incredibly helpful and filled with all sorts of interesting sessions by the top people in their field. I just hope I’ll be able to implement what I learned and not fuck it all up. But anyway …

I’ve also been going through a bit of a reading slump over the last few months, but this morning I picked up The Emperor’s Edge by Lindsay Buroker, and as usual with her books, I’m already loving it. I love her sassy style. I think I needed a break from all the dark stuff and needed something fun to read.

Just because I write dark and twisted fiction doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy things that are a little less on the blood and gore front. It keeps me balanced. Don’t judge me. Lindsay Buroker is an excellent writer, and I can learn a lot from reading her books.

So … what are you reading at the moment? Do you have anything on your TBR pile that’s by your go-to author for when you’re going through a slump that you know will just pull you out of it?

Now …in case you’re going through a slump or are just looking for something new to read or looking for a new author to try, I’ve got you covered with an assortment of FREE Sci-Fi and Dystopian reads. I’m going to be filling up my ereader with a lot of them. I have to say, they look really good.

Happy reading, and thank you for being a Freaky Darling!
