Lit Fests and Story Time

Hello my Freaky Darlings,

Last year, as you know, I attended Word Horror Con in Brighton. It was the first literary event I’d ever attended, it was also one of the most amazing weekends of my life. I met so many interesting people and in some ways it was one of those life changing events. It opened my eyes to all the possibilities and I got to introduce South African horror to an international audience.

This year I’m going to get off my arse and attend as many local literary events as I can. My wallet is very grateful that there aren’t that many.

The first one is the Franschhoek Lit Fest which is from the 13th to the 15th of May. I’m really looking forward to being amongst all the Cape Wine farms, which is probably a little dangerous. My liver will not know what hit it. It’s going to be one hell of a weekend!

Wordfest in Grahamstown is from the 2nd to the 8th of July. It’s part of the Grahamstown Arts Festival which is always amazing.

Then, I’m hoping to be able to attend Fantasy Con in Brighton from the 30th of September to the 2nd of October. It’ll be my only international event. Although at this point my wallet is telling me its pretty much impossible – A girl can dream!

Wrapping the year up is Book Ex! I’m still waiting to hear about the finalised dates, but I know it’s going to be an amazing event and one that should not be missed.

In other news: I’m featured on the Story Time website! Pop on in and read the excerpt and let me know what you think.

If you want to sponsor my gallivanting to all the lit festivals you can get your very own copy of Shadows from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Smashwords.

Happy Valentines day!
