Thrills, Chills, and Kills Await! 📚🎬🌊 Explosions, Get Free Books, Retribution Extract, and a Creepy Kelpie Video!

Hello, my Freaky Darlings!

Greetings from a confused and chilly arse-end of Africa.

Well, well, well, it seems like my friends across the oceans were worried about little ol’ me! Rest assured, my adventurous self was far away from the chaos that rocked the centre of Johannesburg due to the gas explosion. Bree Street? Nah, that’s not my scene. I’m happily residing in a completely different city altogether, away from all the explosive excitement.

Oh, South Africa, you sly devil, surprising people with not just one but quite a few big cities! Who would have thought? But let’s get back to the blast, shall we? Apparently, those gas pipes responsible for the show have been hanging around since the Second World War, lurking in the shadows, forgotten and ignored. I mean, come on, whose pipes are those, and where on earth were they pumping the gas to? It’s a mystery that Sherlock Holmes himself would struggle to crack!
You know, we might have big cities, but the idiots running them seem to be experts at losing their way in a maze of cluelessness. Seriously, remembering to maintain gas pipes isn’t rocket science. Yet, somehow, they’ve managed to make it look like a magic trick gone wrong! Meanwhile, they sure do have a talent for pilfering tax money – a skill they seem to have perfected!

On a more positive note, South Africa’s charm lies in its diversity and culture, and we won’t let a little gas explosion dampen our spirits. So, here’s to creating a brighter, safer future for our cities – one where we don’t have to worry about century-old pipes going boom!

But anyway, moving right along swiftly …

My Shit

The Race series continues with “Retribution”, the fourth book in the series, and here’s a short extract for your reading pleasure:

At least this time around they hadn’t drugged me. I walked onto the ship with my own two legs, although in some ways I wish they had knocked me out first. The other Runners stared at me as I strolled up the gangplank, trying to look as though I didn’t give two shits that they all wanted my head. My heart, on the other hand, betrayed my fear by trying to beat its own retreat.

Cowardly little fucker.

Von Zimmer, Olga, and Doctor Mannheim would meet me on the Island. The lucky shits got to fly there while I had to be caged up with the rest of the animals and fresh meat in the hull of the old rust-bucket. It was the same ship I’d sailed on to the Island the first time around. A lifetime ago.

The Novices were in their cells and unconscious when we—The Runners—were forced into our cells like cattle and locked up for the journey to the Island. My stomach still didn’t enjoy being on the ocean. I kept swallowing my puke down to avoid throwing up all over one of the Runners sharing the cell with me. I couldn’t afford to show weakness. I also wasn’t sure if being sick all over a hyped-up Runner would spark a fight or not, and I really didn’t want to have to defend myself until I absolutely had to.

Sunil was also somewhere on the ship, which was also a bit on the odd side. He usually didn’t leave Von Zimmer’s side, but I liked to think that he wanted to be close to me. You know—just in case. The problem was I didn’t know where he was on the ship. Plus it didn’t really matter how close he was if one of the Runners decided to bash my head against the metal bars until my skull caved in there would be nothing he could do about it, and Mannheim wouldn’t be able to bring me back. I was on my own.

You can grab Retribution and the rest of the books in the series wherever good ebooks are sold for only $0.99 each.
