WTF Moments, Fun with AI and Freebies Galore

Hello, my Freaky Darlings!

Greetings from the arse end of Africa! So … That whole Russian insurrection turned out to be a disappointing storm in a teacup. If you blinked, you would have missed it. It’s also left me a smidge confused. What was the point? The world keeps getting stranger by the day. If it’s not the catastrophic implosion of the Titan and the strange global reactions to the tragedy, it’s an insurrection that wasn’t. Journalists certainly aren’t having slow news days at the moment. I’m having a lot of WTF moments. How about you?

But anyway … moving on swiftly.

My Shit

So I’ve been having fun with ChatGPT and got it to rewrite the blurbs for my books, and it’s way better at writing book descriptions than I am. Here’s what it came up with for Requiem in E Sharp:

In the heart-pounding thriller, “Requiem in E Sharp” by Joan De La Haye, Sundays in Pretoria become a deadly dance between a troubled detective and a tormented serial killer. Selected women fall victim to a murderer plagued by a haunting childhood, driven by a distinctive modus operandi that seeks to escape the clutches of the person who should have protected him.

As The Bathroom Strangler’s sadistic spree intensifies and the body count rises, Detective Nico van Staaden finds himself entangled in a harrowing race against time. Haunted by his own demons, Nico must navigate the treacherous labyrinth of these seemingly unrelated murders while facing relentless pressure from his superiors.

In a world where evidence is scarce, and the stakes couldn’t be higher, Nico’s relentless pursuit of justice pushes him to the brink of his own sanity. As the final showdown approaches, the resolution becomes an orgy of bloodshed, brutality, and merciless reckoning. Will Nico prevail against an enemy whose twisted psyche knows no bounds, or will he become another casualty in the deadly symphony orchestrated by the Bathroom Strangler?

“Requiem in E Sharp” is a spine-chilling thriller that will leave you breathless, gripping your seat until the last chilling note is played. Joan De La Haye masterfully weaves a tale of suspense, psychological torment, and the fragile boundaries between good and evil. Prepare yourself for a journey into the darkest recesses of the human soul, where redemption and vengeance collide in a crescendo of violence.

What do you think of the book description?

Weird Shit

This week I’m investigating the mysterious disappearance of Walter Collins.

I think he was killed on that ranch, but what do you think? Was he taken by former inmates who were pissed off with his father? Or did that foreign couple take him, and did he live his best life in another country?
