Hello my Freaky Darlings,

I watched The Haunting this week.

I first watched it a few years ago and, as with the first time I saw it, I loved the house! But I also still have mixed feelings about the movie. I think Liam Neeson is a brilliant actor, but his talents are some how wasted here. The characters don’t seem to be developed enough and Nell aka Eleanor was rather irritating. But the special effects were great, although I have seen better. The movies saving grace was the absolutely stunning house and Catherine Zeta-Jones’ wardrobe.

The Haunting unfortunately didn’t creep me out and didn’t leave me with anything to think about. It was pure mindless escapism which can also be fine if that’s what you’re looking for.

I think I’ll have to read the book.
